How do Russian people look like?
Why am I writing this post? It’s because I’ve been watching quite a lot of American films recently, and I’m astonished how Russians are shown there. The ugliest people are chosen to play Russians (ok, one woman was beautiful, but I don’t remember any other nice examples). And they are always awful characters: a badass terrorist wishing to destroy the USA (some kind of paranoia?) or Russian mafia scaring American cities (there can be no Russian mafia in the USA because Russian mafia is in Russia). So I decided to put up a video showing how Russian people of modern generation look like. This video is a mixture of our actors and ordinary, not famous people. The music in the video is inspired by Russian folk melodies.
If you’re interested in history, here are some more facts. Russians are a part of an extended Slavic family. There are a lot of nations created on the basis of Slavic tribes. The word “Slavic” was derived either from the word “slovo”, which means “word” or, from the word “slava” meaning “glory”.
Russians, Ukrainians and Belarusians originate from Eastern Slavic tribes. Poles, Czechs, Slovaks, Kaszubs and Lusatians lead their history from Western Slavic tribes. And Southern Slavic tribes got split into Bulgarians, Serbians, Croats, Bosnians, Macedonians, Slovenes, Montenegrins.
